What does a Child Do
Back To Home Page
A lil girl was full of joy
She played she laughed
Life was there and ment nothin
Just a lil girl to last

Things can stay as black and white
But as we grow the colour comes along
Lil girls and lil boys no fear know they
Their hearts and soul and mind so strong

If the black and the white
Meets the colour too soon
The Adult in them awoken
Listenin to life in a different tune

Then the tornado that is churnin
The Earthquake goin on inside
Touched by the hands of a monster
Where does the child go to hide

Turnin inside themselves
They know not where to go
Talkin and laughin and smilin
Is a memory so long ago

Now they are an adult
way before their time
Innocence taken by a monster
No life of a nursery rhyme

What do they do now
What happens when child is not child
The volcano just errupted
The hot lather is runnin wild

Turnin this way and turnin that
No road does seem right to take
Take every single one then head on back
When its a bad road they did take

So what does a child do
when a child aint a child no more
Not an adult are they either
And life just became a chore

No laughin no smilin no talkin no more
Bottlin up not lettin anyone near
Just goin through life on a high
Inside screamin but outside cheer

The laughter ya hear the smile that you see
Are all a mask they made on that stolen night
The laughter is a scream just learned it differently
The smile is to hide what is inside - fright

Now look at the children playin out in your street
Look at their smiles as they play their lil games
Now look at the child that is sat on the wall
They are the ones that get called all the names

The bad one the one that can never do right
The one always in trouble never happy for long
The one that is sat their wi the glass lil eyes
The one you always thought was ever so strong

Harsh words are not strength they are a cover
They hide in them words like the volcano inside
Its been burnin away and yet hidden so well
By harsh words and a frown is where its behind

What does a child do when not a child no more
Yet should of been a child for many yrs yet
I know that I thought drink and drugs were adult
And yes it was many wrong roads i went along you can bet
